If your RoboVac G series stops with Error 1: Front bumper is stuck voice alert, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
- In most cases, the bumper may have gotten stuck with debris lodged in the bumper after the RoboVac accidentally bumping into furniture:
- Tap/pull/shake the bumper repeatedly to dislodge any dust and debris that may have been lodged in the bumper.
- If you are great at hand-on skills, you can try reassembling the bumper by following the instructions in this video: How to Replace Bumper
- (It’s a different model in the video but the steps of re-assembling the bumper are similar.)
- A scratched bumper lens could prevent sensors from detecting obstacles normally, which could also trigger the Error 1 voice alert.
- Please check for dark surfaces in your house. If you have walls and furniture with very dark-colored surfaces, which would absorb IR signals used by the vacuum to detect obstacles, the vacuum may run into these walls and furniture more often and the bumper lens may be scratched as a result.
- If you are not sure whether your bumper lens is severely scratched, please send us a picture of the bumper lens and we can verify it for you.
If the above troubleshooting did not help, please note that this front bumper error can usually be solved by replacing the signal bracket for the G30/G35/G40 series only.
