How does Geofencing work?
The geofencing feature requires everyone at home to install the EufySecurity app and allow the app to use the phone’s location in real time.
When you enter the zone, the security mode will default switched to the home mode by Geofencing.
When you go out of the zone, the security mode will default switched to away mode by Geofencing.
For the family & guest users, please tell them to keep enabling the phone’s location and allow the EufySecurity app to have the location permissions.
Does Geofencing work for multi-person?
Yes. The system can work for family multi-person. If you share your devices with your family, and they accept the sharing invitation in the EufySecurity app. Yours and your family’s phones will be listed in the Enabled Devices.
The system supported multi-person (multi-phone) to switch the Geofencing.
When at least one person in the zone will be considered home.
When everyone is out of the zone will be considered to be away from home.
If you don’t want your phone in the Geofencing group, please disabled your phone in the Enabled Devices menu.
Why there is a delay when I enter or go out of the zone?
Please note that the accuracy of geofencing depends on the positioning accuracy of your phone.
Due to the battery saving strategy of your phone, the geofencing switching modes may delay about 20sec-6min.
In order to maintain a good accuracy of geofencing, please pay attention to the following settings.
a. For Android, please update your phone's Google Play, and Google Map Apps to the latest version. For iOS, please update your phone's iOS and Map versions to the latest version.
b. Please keep your operating system updated.
c. Do not turn on the phone's battery saver.
d. Keep both the location switch and WiFi switch on.
e. Grant EufySecurity App for the background location permission.
f. Do not clean background Apps, some smartphones may turn off the geofencing function after cleaning.
What can I do if it shows Unavailable or Waiting on the Enabled Devices?
If it shows “Unavailable”, it means the system is unable to get the phone’s status currently or within 24h. Or the phone has disabled the location service, or does not grant the location permission to the eufySecurity app.
If you want to solve this issue, please ask the phone’s owner to log in to the eufySecurity app, then enable the phone’s location services and grant the location permission to the eufySecurity app.
If it shows “Waiting…”, it means the system has sent the Geofencing invitation to your family’s phone, please ask your family member to open the eufySecurity app and accept the invitation and enable the phone’s location services and grant the location permission to the eufySecurity app.
The phone with status "Unavailable" or "Waiting..." will not be used for the Geofencing.
