S120 Solar Wall Light Cam is a battery-powered device. A balance must be kept between preserving battery life and recording events.
It will record motion until no human is detected or until the maximum recording time is reached, whichever occurs first. This ensures longer battery life if there are fewer than 30 alerts per day. The system will try to detect and record every event, and every recording will be up to 15 seconds in length. If motion occurs frequently, the system will increase the detection interval to reduce battery drain.
By default the camera is set to Optimal Surveillance mode, which is suitable for situations that have the camera facing a place with a lot of movement every day. In this mode, recorded clip length will be up to 20 seconds, and there will be a fixed recording interval of 5 seconds. This mode is suitable for most use cases.
If you don’t want to miss any events, you may select Customize Recording mode. You can manually set the recording length and detection interval. This may result in the battery draining faster when the recording file length is set too long or the detection interval is set too short. In most cases this mode will result in battery life of less than one month.
