Newest available FW version I2.0.X_0.0.1_3.50.7

What's needed to update your FW version:

  • The Playermaker 2.0 case
  • Left and right sensors
  • USB-C charging cable
  • iOS or Android device

How to update your FW version:

  1. Place both sensors inside your Playermaker 2.0 case.
  2. Plug your case into the charger and a power source.
  3. Turn your mobile device's Bluetooth ON.
  4. Keep your sensors and app in close proximity to one another.
  5. Open your Playermaker 2.0 app.
  6. Go to 'Settings'.
  7. Tap on 'Playermaker Account'.
  8. At the bottom of the page, locate 'New firmware available'.
  9. Press 'Update now'.
  10. Wait until the update is completed.
    • During the update, the sensors' Green red blue lights will flash until the update is completed. This will take up to 6 minutes.
    • A pop-up message will appear giving you the option to press 'Learn more'. Here, you will receive further information on the new update and its features.
  11. Now, enjoy the new update!

If your FW is not updating successfully, then:

  • First, see if your sensors are already up-to-date with the latest FW version.
    • If your sensors are not up-to-date with the latest FW version and the FW update didn't work, then follow these steps:
      • Open your Playermaker 2.0 app.
      • Unpair your sensors from your account.
      • Turn your phone’s Bluetooth OFF and ON.
      • Shut down and relaunch the Playermaker 2.0 app.
      • Pair your sensors with your account (pairing your sensors will prompt any relevant updates to your sensors).
      • Ensure that your sensors updated to the latest FW version by checking the "i" symbol in the CITYPLAY account section of the app.

NOTE: On your Playermaker 2.0 app, a 'FW' (Firmware) icon will appear on the 'Settings' icon. This icon indicates that a sensor firmware update is available.

The Importance of Firmware Updates

Firmware is a crucial component that ensures smooth communication between the software (app) and the hardware (sensors) of a device. Outdated firmware can lead to communication issues between these elements.

Additionally, firmware updates play a key role in resolving problems related to charging and battery performance, including issues with battery estimators, firmware updates, and LED indicators. Regular firmware updates are essential for maintaining optimal device functionality and performance.
